Direct Vision Standard, Permit Applications
The Direct Vision standard affects ALL vehicles 12 tonne GVW and above, that enter London, with a £550 per day fine for non-compliance, It is something that companies should take very seriously.
The area that this is being enforced is much more than inner London, it stretches all the way out to the M25 in some places. Have a look at the map which shows you the areas where regulation is being enforced or visit the website below.
Since October 1st 2020 ALL
vehicles over 12 tonne GVW have had to have a permit to operate in the controlled area.
Have you got your permits? if not Miller and hall can help you with this.
To get a permit most current model HGV’s will need some or all of TfL’s recommended Safety equipment installing. we can inspect your vehicles, advise on and install the required equipment if needed.

Important information for operators of light goods vehicles that travel to the EU.
From 21 May 2022, operators or users of vans or other light goods vehicles over 2.5 tonnes and up to 3.5 tonnes in weight for hire and reward will need to obtain an International Operator's Licence.
This includes a requirement to appoint a designated transport manager with a valid Transport Manager Certificate of Professional Competence (TM CPC) qualification.
This new requirement is part of the UK/EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement.
Operators will need to list the name of a qualified transport manager in their application for an operator licence. Applications for operator licences will be taken from March 2022.

Miller and Hall have been given the opportunity to supply and install a range of high end safety systems that assist both driver and cyclist.
cyclesense systems detect obstacles alongside the vehicle giving an audible and a visual signal to the driver, whist an external speaking alarms warn cyclists and pedestrians of the vehicle’s intention to turn left, right or reverse.
We can also supply and install reverse camera systems, multi camera recording systems with the ability to access live data via 4G, helping to reduce insurance premiums and assist in driver training. we can even add in cab recording and assist with company policies surrounding camera use and image recording.
We can offer Nationwide (by agreement) on-site installations with weekend work being part of our service.
Miller and Hall are also a distributor cyclesense systems very popular, own unique design LED cycle warning light which we have fitted to the rear of HGV/PSV and utility vehicles.
ALL of our systems are TFL, FORS, CLOCS and Thames Tideway compliant they are also Bespoke, so can be tailor made to your requirements and budget.
